I couldn’t find the creator of the tag.
It’s been a while since I’ve done a booktag. And you guys know I have a lot of unpopular opinions . So lets start!!!
*Spoilers for Percy jackson and heroes of olympus*
A popular book or series that you didn’t like?

I don’t exactly not like this series. But I’m certainly intimidated by these books .
A popular book or series that everyone seems to hate but you love?

It’s not a popular book yet. White stag had a lot of negative opinions but I really loved it. The supposedly love interest bothered many people.. but i really decided to forgive that and honestly , the book was fast paced and interesting . So meh
A love triangle where your ship didn’t sail? (Spoilers here)

I shipped Leo and Hazel (goes into hiding) from Heroes of Olympus series. But its not exactly a spoiler since everyone is shipped with everyone is percy jackson
A popular book genre that you hardly reach for?
Romance and contemporary.
A popular or beloved character that you do not like? (Spoilers here)
I didn’t like Annabeth(from Percy jackson) at all until house of hades book. I always felt like she was toying with my boy.
A popular author that you can’t seem to get into?
Roshani chokshi. Her writing style is sorta new and weird for me. I’ve tried almost all of her books but I can’t work with her writing style YET.
A popular book trope that your tired of seeing ?

I have a lot of tropes I don’t likeas a matter of fact . The one i would like to mention here is “mean girls trope”. Yes , some girls can be jerks but they’re not like hollow. They can be complex and have layers.
This trope has been subverted only in Teen wolf I think. I don’t know much about it in books but I really wanna see more of it.
A common series that you have no interest in reading?

I don’t have any interest in to all the boys I’ve loved before series.
I can say this to throne of Glass too. But I’ve already said it.
An adaption you liked better than the book?

I hate to say this but i liked perks of being a wallflower movie better. The book was so intense and sometimes creepy .
- This book is basically a narration by a boy who’s struggling with mental health issues and high school pressure.
- But it gets intense when he basically says everything in his mind.
- It sounds more like a draft than a book.
- The movie on the other hand didn’t had any of these problem (mostly).
And seriously Emma watson was there❤
Do you guys have any of these unpopular opinions???
I didn’t like the Sarah J. Maas books either. Interesting fact: the author of Perks also wrote the movie screenplay and directed it.

I didn’t know that fact!! And its awesome to find you feel the same way. Thanks for reaching out to me ❤

You didn’t like Annabeth until House of Hades? 🙈 I couldn’t read that many books without liking one of the main characters! 😂

Well my other favorite movie is The Breakfast Club so I definitely think I have a type for wired existential coming of age stuff xD

Maybe 😂. I haven’t watched breakfast club yet. But I’ve heard awesome things about it 😊

Ohh, I want to say that the mean girls trope has been subverted quite well, but for the life of me, I can’t remember in what. I think I might be thinking more about antiheroines than mean girls, though. 😂

Right???? It’s happened like never. It’s so weird with all these changes in writing happening , mean girls haven’t been forgiven😂 yet

Exactly! Hopefully, there’s some good stuff in the future, lol.

I really do love the perks of being a wallflower, and I think even though both of them are so different, they’re equally good, if that does make any sense. The movie is one of my favourite movies ever but I think the boom really shows what’s like to have an illness, and how it feels to be constantly with fear and being abandoned by all those you loved. Charlie is a symbol to all those misfits who struggle.

I totally agree. But it was sort of creepy for me to be inside his head. It’s just my opinion and I totally agree with you maria. I did like the book but loved the movie😊. Thanks for letting me know ❤❤❤

Great post! I shipped Hazel with Leo too in the start but somehow I just converted and started shipping her with Frank, especially once Calypso came into the picture.

I can understand that. After I got to know frank , i stopped it and shipped leo with myself 😉. Thanks for reading my post 😊

I didn’t like Throne of Glass either! (though ACOTAR isn’t half bad.) and yes, Perks of Being a Wallflower is a much better movie than book ⚔ I’ve seen quite a few books where the cliched “mean girl” gets actual backstory and character development (Sawkill Girls comes to mind, but I can’t seem to remember more right now 😅), but there are definitely still lots that don’t bother – honestly though, I’m not quite sure if that’s because I read mostly backlist or if it’s a continuing trend.

I’ve not been around contemporary much. But it’s really great to hear the trope is being subverted.

I’m the same for romances and contemporaries I rarely reach for them or find ones I like even though I want to.

I still don’t like Annabeth that much. I mean she’s kickass and everything but I don’t really care what happens with her *hides*

Yes. I can tolerate her now. Glad someone thinks the same❤

I HAVE THE SAME FEELINGS TOWARDS TATBILB Series! It’s too overrated for me and I don’t see myself reading the book…

I finally decided I’ll catch up with the movies😂.

SAME HAHAH. that’s the closest I could get 😂

Omw I had a phase where I shipped Nico and Thalia (why oh why).
Ugh, I always hate seeing the mean girls trope in books. Most of the girls I know/grew up with are supportive and loving of each other.

I really liked the perks of being a wallflower film but I still haven’t read the book…

The book is fun and I know many people who love it more than the movie. But it wasn’t for me❤. Thanks for reading my post
