Elite ( selection 2)

The Selection began with thirty-five girls.
Now with the group narrowed down to the six Elite, the competition to win Prince Maxon’s heart is fiercer than ever—and America is still struggling to decide where her heart truly lies. Is it with Maxon, who could make her life a fairy tale? Or with her first love, Aspen?

America is desperate for more time. But the rest of the Elite know exactly what they want—and America’s chance to choose is about to slip away.

Why I didn’t like this book?

This book travels along with the point of view of America Singer just like the first book . We don’t get what is actually happening in Illea or in the palace and are forced to take judgements only from America’s point of view which made me disappointed .

America was toying with Maxon and Aspen . I am not a fan of love triangles or rectangles for that matter . So I thought America’s lack of judgement , pushing away every problem , avoiding any serious conversation irritating.

There wasn’t any foundation shown to us regarding the depth of Aspen and America in the first book . And Maxon and America didn’t even have a relationship. So I ended up feeling sorry for both guys.

The book was majorly focused on the selection process even if there were rebels and problem with the allies .

When does this begin ?

The book actually gets good when they learn what it takes to be a princess and they get into the real business. I was amazed America had perseverance and talent . That girl was great .

There were one or two new characters introduced and some eliminated . Maxon always being the do-good guy was so artificial. You are going to be king . You have to take some authority and responsibility . It does make you cruel . No one can be good for everyone.

Aspen was desperate brilliant sweet and irritating at the same time. And Maxon doesnt have a clue whats going on with him even if he is the prince and these girls are one of his priority .

Silvia and the queen had some time with the girls and we came to know America knew how to move with them

The plot finally gets a twist when America does the stupidest thing she has done in the palace .

Other than that there weren’t major twists in the plot or any unexpected thing . Even if the palace and Illea is so vulnerable and threatened , we couldn’t get to know about it and we are just focussed on who Prince Maxon likes .

Happy reading

  1. I agree 100% with you. I wished so much that Maxon would just take the reigns and make the hard choices and I just wanted America to jump off a cliff. In my opinion neither Maxon or Aspen deserve America–they deserve so much better. lol.

  2. I agree with your thoughts. When I read it I both was drawn to it but at the same time a bit bored which I’ve never tried before. It is a very easy read and doesn’t last for more than a day or two if you are dedicated. I don’t regret reading it, but I wouldn’t mind never reading it again.
    Keep up the good work!
